TRAINING

Wild Mtn Farm is pleased to offer gun dog training for all levels.  Whether you wish to come out on a scheduled basis with your new puppy and work together with Brian or if you wish to have your dog stay with us for full breaking and training we will work with you.  We offer programs to fit any need.  We have reasonable flat rates for both puppies as well as older dogs and there are never any hidden expenses or handling fees tacked on at the end of the month.  Dogs will be accepted for both companion hunt training as well as campaigning in field trial and hunt test venues.  Space is very limited as we are accepting ONLY 16 dogs at a time to ensure that we are able to provide each dog our full attention.  We believe STRONGLY that it should not be necessary to beat our string of contenders before it is possible to beat the competition. By limiting the amount of competition dogs we accept for campaigning, we up the odds of success for every dog on our string.

In addition to the training, Home-style meals and Guest accomadations are offered at NO ADDITIONAL expense, regardless of the training/campaign program chosen. We beleive that not everyone has the time to dedicate to the distance travel from city to the farm and can do without the addition expenses incurred for lodging and meals. We encourage all who use our services to come to the farm and PARTICIPATE in the training process whenever possible. Meals will be provided so all you have to do is come to the farm, relax and be ready to enjoy the training process with your dog, whenever you choose.

There are 110 acres of terrain suitable to both challenge and perfect the upland hunting companion with open meadow, tree line and hedgerows of bramble to provide ample cover for the birds. Dogs will be worked off of foot, ATV and horseback and are faithfully worked on a 5 day training regime.

Brian and Helen have each been in the “client roll” in the past and believe that we know what is expected of a quality gun dog training program.  Brian has taken his dog DC Bdr’s Zigman Floyd from that puppy that was purchased purely as a hunting dog all the way to the coveted Dual Champion title.  Helen too, has endeavored towards that DC with her own gun dog, DC Mokan Wild Mtn I’m Justa Gigolo  and together they are completely committed to the keeping the Dual concept strong.
